The table

This is a short story i came up with a few years ago.  Lol i just found the book i used to write some stuff down in.. so well... hope u enjoy it.

"Hey, Baby.." he said,as he closed the door behind him, and put the pistol on the table. "careful... It's loaded." he said, eyeing the pistol in her hand, as he kissed her.

"Yeah. I know." she replied casually. She was always so suave. So smooth. So mysterious. And he loved it. "So is this for your wife?"  she asked, with a glint in her eye.

"Maybe. It depends. I hope not. But tonight's the night it's gonna happen. I've got an elegant solution." He showed her the white powder as he placed it on the table. "A substance that won't show up in the forensics" he said, as he filled up a glass with wine and turned towards the window.

"Why don't you just hire a guy to kill her, instead of getting your hands dirty?" she asked. She smiled a wicked half-smile. "What if she found you were cheating on her, and has somebody hired to kill you? 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' you know." She placed the gun back on the table.

Picking up the glass from the table again and enjoying the wine, he laughed "Hey. Who'd be dumb enough to hire an assasin to kill a spouse, honey? who has that kinda cash anyway?"

"Your wife." she said, as he dropped to the floor and writhed.

She pocketed the gun and walked away with the empty bottle that once contained the white powder.
